The Battle for True Southern Identity

In the world we live in there is an abundance of misinformation about what it means to be a Southerner. I believe that this is caused by a trickle down effect from modern media and general lack of motivation by those outside of the geographical south to change mindsets that have been in place for centuries. An undertone of the IS is to combat this misinformation with actuality aimed at creating a new definition of what southern culture really means to those who claim it.

Now this blog is not all going to be about the South, but rather have the undertone of the importance of creating an identity for something that you believe in because all too often people find themselves supporting a cause who are unaware of what is actually stands for.

The Innominate Southerner: An Introduction

What is the Innominate Southerner?

The IS is all about creating an avenue to express genuine thoughts, fears, and aspirations of modern world humans whom identify themselves as a product of Southern Culture.

- Thought. It is the most powerful tool of the human race, and each one carries a unique shape, tone, and encryption. Some are written by the body, meant to address the issues of physical need. Some are written by the mind, either fact or fiction, in a way to tell a story of the mind's eye. Some thoughts though, some thoughts are written by the soul. The inner part of man that cannot be ignored and shelved into glass jars along your life, only for dust to grow or for us to forget where we put them in the first place. These thoughts are the ones that make us human, that make us a creation unlike any other. These are the thoughts that people crave to hear from one another.

- Fear. Fear also ranks as a powerful being of the mind. A being that, if unjustly allowed, will grasp control of every aspect of your life that you choose to let it into. Choice is the key action of the previous statement since there are also many positive aspects to be associated with it. Think about something in your life that once brought you fear but now after facing and overcoming that fear you look and wonder how it is you ever lived before. This embrace and tackle attitude towards fear is what makes the world an exciting place to be and to close the subject I will leave you with the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson "always do what you are afraid to do."

- Aspirations, Dreams, Goals, or whatever you want to call them they are all the same. Life is full of them, some are true yet many of them lie in wait, too fluffed up by your fears and thoughts to be attainable. Never hesitate to imagine a brighter future but always take a moment to stop and think about whether or not you're actually in pursuit of that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
